“IJCSE” is a funny acronym, a chameleon term, changing its meaning like the color of the animal. How do I know? It starts with my hitting on an article titled Massive Open Online Courses : A New Dawn for Higher Education?<\/a> I have sketched the ackwardness <\/a> of this piece, culminating in the inclusion of editorial advices<\/a> into the published text. This glitch occurs in a journal<\/a> which boasts an highly elaborate review process<\/a> and claims to be<\/a><\/p>\n

a leading international journals for publication of new ideas, the state of the art research results and fundamental advances in all aspects of computer science and engineering. IJCSE is a scholarly open access, peer reviewed(refereed) international journal<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It links, on its front page, to a directory of open access journals and this is where things really get interesting. The “International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering (IJCSE)” carries the ISSN 0975-3397 and, as proof of its open access characteristics, points to the “International Journal of Computer Science Engineering (IJCSE)<\/a>” with an ISSN 2319-7323. You may have missed the subtle change of title: of<\/strong> instead of on<\/strong>. And, lo and behold, these are indeed two seperate journals.<\/p>\n

Both do not only share virtually the same title, but also — it seems — editorial staff. A.Selvi of SIPS Technologies is associate editor of IJCSE: 0975-3397 and an A. Selvi from KEJA Publications is named as editor of IJSCE: 2319-7323. K.SivaKumar from KEJA Technologies is editor of the former journal, presumably not to be confused with Dr. A.V.Senthil Kumar who figures second on the latter’s list of editors. But this is not the whole story about Mr. K.SivaKumar.<\/p>\n

It turns out that there is a third IJCSE journal (with ISSN 0976-5166): “The Indian Journal of Computer Science and Engineering (IJCSE)<\/a>” Guess who is editor-in-chief: K.SivaKumar. The managing editor of this publication, to introduce another subtle change of names, is someone called S.Selvi.<\/p>\n

This seems to be the guy who, as editor-in-chief of the “International Journal of Pharma Sciences and Research (IJPSR)<\/a>” cooperates with K.SivaKumar, executive editor of this product, which, it has to be admitted, introduces a new acronym into this game of make belief. As does the “International Journal of Engineering Science and Technology (IJEST)<\/a>” with K.SivaKumar, KEJA Technologies, Singapore as its managing director in tandem with A.Selvi, SIPS Technologies, India as managing editor.<\/p>\n
