Es ist ein wenig wie ein Katastrophenfilm, den man vom sicheren Kinositz aus betrachtet. Nach einem schlechten Evaluationsergebnis hat die Leitung der Universit\u00e4t Liverpool angek\u00fcndigt, das Institut f\u00fcr Philosophie zu schlie\u00dfen<\/a>. Die Homepage des Instituts selbst<\/a> darf offensichtlich nichts dar\u00fcber berichten. Die Liverpool Daily Post<\/a> gibt einen \u00dcberblick. Siehe auch den Bericht im Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Das Institut bietet, so die Begr\u00fcndung, keine “Weltklasseforschung”. Damit wird ein Schlagwort zum Schlagwort. “under-performing”, \u2018realignment and repositioning, transfer of activity to another higher education institution, and closure\u2019. <\/p>\n

Und dazu die bekannten rhetorischen Gesten.<\/p>\n

There is something terrible happening to higher education in Europe, on a European scale, it constitutes a real threat to the continued existence of what has been called “universities” for centuries in Europe, and it takes place almost unnoticed.<\/p>\n
