Vor kurzem las ich auf dem Gang die Prüfungszettel des Institutes und stellte fest, dass ein Student zum Rigorosum angemeldet war, dessen Dissertation ich kannte. Ich hatte sie im Entwurf abgelehnt, weil die Literatur der letzten 10 Jahre fehlte. Nun wurde die Arbeit von den geschätzen Kollegen Wuketits und Zeidler offenbar für akzeptabel gefunden.
Damals war mir natürlich klar, dass der Kandidat sich andere Prüfer suchen würde. Aber ich wollte auch nicht so weit gehen, aktiv Schritte zu unternehmen, um das zu verhindern.
Heute habe ich mich dafür zu einem Workshop in englischer Sprache in Salzburg angemeldet. Es geht um die Zukunft des Doktoratsstudiums in Europa und die Mozartstadt muss wieder einmal dran glauben:
The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Austria, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany, and the European University Association will therefore jointly host a Bologna Seminar entitled “Doctoral Programmes in the European Knowledge Society”, which aims at providing high-quality input on this issue for the 2005 Conference of Ministers of Education in Bergen.
